Keeping Lives Saved: A Community Awareness Event-March 31, 2017

March 31, 2017, The Alano Club of Battle Creek will host a community awareness event in response to the continued overdose epidemic. ACBC will host a panel of people in recovery, discussing how they maintain their recovery through multiple recovery pathways.

This is a free event that is open to the public and will feature information tables for local resources, treatment centers, and support groups.

Celebrating Recovery Success for Thirty Years

Thoughts from Roy Tooke, Alano Club of Battle Creek Executive Officer

PHX 2014In reflection on the last five years of the Alano Club of Battle Creek, what it was like, what happened, and what it is like now, the story is quite amazing. In that short time, we went from a small building that held as many as it could, one band-aid after another was applied to keep it all together. There was good recovery in the building, but with the lack of abundant resources and space, the opportunity for outreach was limited.

Our Alano Club Board of Directors set out to find agencies and businesses in the community who would hear our story and champion our cause, and to help us build a safe building for recovery. It took some work but the team pulled together a Capital Campaign and hit the floor running. The community stepped up in huge ways and the money was raised to renovate the building.
