My name is Brandi Clanton, and I am the Executive Director of Recovery Services Unlimited, where I've been providing outpatient substance use disorder treatment, recovery coaching, and recovery housing services since 2017. As a Licensed Master Level Social Worker (LMSW) and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), I am deeply passionate about the recovery community, particularly because I have been in recovery myself since 2016. My personal journey fuels my dedication to helping others navigate their recovery, and I bring that commitment to my role as President of the Board of Directors at the Alano Club of Battle Creek. I recently married my best friend, who is also in recovery, and together we are devoted to supporting our community.
My name is Kira Jones, and I work as an Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Clinician in Battle Creek, where I also serve as a part-time liaison to the local treatment courts, advocating on behalf of our agency’s clients. As a Master Level Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals on their path to recovery. My personal recovery journey deeply informs my work and drives my commitment to giving back to the community. Serving on the board of the Alano Club allows me to extend this commitment, applying my skills and passion for recovery to help advance the organization’s mission. My name is Fernando Rosa, and I am the Vice President of the Insurance Network Agency and a licensed agent with the company, where I have worked since 2006. Over the years, I have developed a strong foundation in finance and accounting, public relations, and non-profit board involvement. My experience in strategic planning, financial oversight, and community outreach allows me to contribute meaningfully to the initiatives and goals of the Alano Club. I am passionate about making a positive impact and supporting the growth and success of the organization. I lead an active lifestyle and have a passion for smoking BBQ. I also value the importance of spending quality time with friends and family.
My name is Suzanna Warren and my journey to recovery has been a long and difficult one, but it has also been incredibly rewarding. After getting clean and sober, I threw myself into pursuing my professional goals. I earned my bachelor’s degree and found my calling at the Drug Court Program, where I spent 15 years sharing my experience, strength, and hope with fellow alcoholics and drug addicts. During that time, I also earned a master’s degree and welcomed my second child. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to help people who genuinely wanted to change, not because they were being forced to. That’s when I left my job at the Drug Court and opened a small office where I could make a difference on my own terms. I am also proud to be affiliated with the American Association of Christian Counselors and EMDRIA, both of which align with my commitment to providing compassionate and effective care. Thanks to my 28 years of recovery, I’ve been able to maintain my marriage for 25 years and raise two beautiful daughters.
My name is Fred Evans, and I am proud to be a lifetime member of the Alano Club, where I have had the privilege of serving on various board committees and as a board member both in the past and present. My involvement with the Club is deeply meaningful to me, as it allows me to give back to the community that has supported me throughout my journey. One of the highlights of my time with the Alano Club was serving as the construction manager during the reconstruction of our building as part of the Capital Campaign through the Community Foundation. It was a rewarding experience to contribute to a project that ensures our facilities can continue to support those in recovery for years to come. I have been blessed with 29 years in recovery, and throughout that time, I have had the honor of sponsoring and mentoring many men who are new to recovery. It has been incredibly fulfilling to guide others on their path to sobriety and to witness the positive changes in their lives.
My name is David Gilbert and I have had the honor of serving as the Calhoun County Prosecuting Attorney since 2013. During my tenure, I have passionately advocated for justice and local specialty courts, including drug and sobriety treatment courts, which provide crucial support and rehabilitation opportunities for those in need. Before being elected Prosecuting Attorney, I practiced as a general attorney, gaining experience across a wide range of legal areas. My commitment to the legal profession extends beyond my current role; I previously chaired the Criminal Law Section for the State Bar of Michigan, and I now co-chair the State Bar’s Standing Committee for the Unauthorized Practice of Law. In addition to my professional responsibilities, I am deeply involved in the community. Over the years, I have been appointed to various boards and committees, including the board of the Village at Mill Creek and the Calhoun County Trailways Alliance, where I contribute my experience to support local initiatives.
My name is Ron Fogg, and for over fifty years, I owned and operated a local business here in Battle Creek. I have been involved with the Battle Creek Alano Club for decades, where I currently serve on the board. This club has been a cornerstone of my personal recovery journey, offering a variety of meetings that have not only supported me but also provided opportunities to give back. As an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, I participate in the steering committee, guiding the efforts of our group and supporting others in their recovery. Beyond my roles within these organizations, I cherish the time spent with my family. My commitment to personal growth and community service is intertwined with my dedication to being present and supportive in the lives of my loved ones.
My name is Scott McCann and I bring a wealth of experience in finance, networking, and public relations to my role as a board member at the Alano Club. My 35-year career as a stockbroker in the financial services industry has provided me with valuable insights and skills that I am eager to apply in support of the Club’s mission. Beyond my professional life, I have been blessed with a rewarding personal journey. My wife and I have raised four wonderful daughters over our 44 years of marriage, and we are now the proud grandparents of five amazing grandchildren. My life has also been deeply shaped by my recovery. I have been actively involved in Narcotics Anonymous, working the 12 steps and sponsoring others within the fellowship. My personal recovery, combined with my compassionate approach to life and my extensive professional background, allows me to contribute meaningfully to the Alano Club. I am committed to using my experience and skills to help others on their recovery journey and to support the continued growth and success of the Club.
My name is Roy Tooke and as a proud lifetime member of the Alano Club, I have deep respect for the long and impactful history this organization holds within the Battle Creek community. I previously served on the Board of Directors, and I am excited to return and once again contribute to the Club’s important mission. I am dedicated to continuing this legacy of service and helping strengthen the recovery community in Battle Creek.
